The name of the event is the Downtown Showdown in Hammond and it will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 in the parking mall between West Thomas Street and East Robert Street in Downtown Hammond. The reason I am asking for your help with this car show is that it is a worthwhile fundraising event for Tangipahoa Parish’s Public Schools. I know it is outside some of your areas, but again, this is for the kids. Plus, I have confirmed that minus costs, all proceeds from the event will go to the Tangipahoa Parish public schools, especially the afterschool programs. Due to the available space, they are going to have to limit the show to about 150 to maybe 200 vehicles. As a personal favor to me, I am asking for the clubs to enter the show and help reach that number. The entry fee is nominal, just $25, and it is going to a worthy cause.
